Department of Physics is organizing a training workshop for
the Faculty members of Public and Private sector universities ,Graduate
and Post Graduate Colleges in order to enhance their skills in
Experimental physics.
List of experiments
>>Determining the wavelength of the light of an He-Ne LASER.
>>Determination of velocity of Light in Air.
>>Observing the normal Zeeman effect in transverse and
longitudinal configuration - spectroscopy using a Lummer-Gehrcke.
>>Determination of Planks constant by using Optical bench & by
Compact Assembly.
>>Investigating spontaneous gas discharge in air as a function of
pressure.
>>Digital Electronics
•Adders, Subtractors, Flipflops.
•BCD to Seven Segment Display.
•Registers.
>>Determining the electric unit charge by Millikan Oil drop
method. >>Analysis of Electron deflection by applying
Electric & Magnetic field.
>>Determination of e/m of electron by using
Helmholtz coils.
>>Physics of X-Rays
•Fluorescence of a luminescent screen due to x rays.•Detecting x-rays
using an ionization chamber.•Determining the ion dose rate of the x-ray
tube
with molybdenum anode.•Investigating the attenuation of x-rays as a
function of the absorber material and absorber
thickness.•Investigating the wavelength dependency of the
attenuation coefficient.•Investigating the relationship between the
attenuation coefficient and the •Bragg reflection: diffraction of x-rays
at a mono-crystal.•Investigating the energy spectrum of an x-ray
tube as a function of the high voltage and the emission
current•Recording and calibrating an x-ray energy spectrum.
•Recording the energy spectrum of a molybdenum anode.
•Fine structure of the characteristic x-ray radiation of a molybdenum

>>Investigating the Hall effect in silver.
